Lucy's Story

This International Women’s Day, we are proud to celebrate Lucy’s incredible journey—a story of perseverance, leadership, and ambition that spans across borders and roles, culminating in her current role as Divisional Manager in the USA. Her path to success is a true testament to the power of hard work, passion, and a commitment to progress.

Lucy’s career began in December 2014 when she took her first step into the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer at Bristol Union Gate in the UK. It was here, in the heart of Bristol, where her love for health and fitness flourished. By August 2015, Lucy's leadership abilities were already shining, earning her a promotion to Assistant Manager at the same location.

When PureGym acquired LA Fitness, bringing new opportunities for growth, Lucy recognized the potential for her next career move. With the fitness industry booming, and London expanding rapidly, she made the bold decision to relocate and pursue her dreams in the capital city. In March 2016, she stepped into the role of Assistant Manager at Edgware/Piccadilly, London, determined to further develop her skills.

By September 2016, Lucy’s passion for leadership and growth had propelled her into the role of Gym Manager at Muswell Hill, where she showcased her ability to lead and inspire her team. Her dedication didn’t go unnoticed, and in 2017, she was promoted to Senior Gym Manager, expanding her influence across the region.

In 2018, Lucy embraced a new challenge as Cluster Manager for multiple gyms in London, overseeing a team of managers and ensuring each location thrived. By 2019, she had earned the title of Regional Manager, where she was responsible for the operations of an entire region in London. Her ability to manage, inspire, and grow businesses in such a fast-paced environment was proof of her exceptional leadership skills.

Lucy’s journey then took her to new heights internationally. In 2021, she was offered a three-month secondment in the USA as Operations Manager. There, she played a crucial role in installations, pre-sale operations, and staff training—experiences that would shape her future leadership style. This international experience led to a permanent role as Divisional Manager in 2022, where Lucy now leads the charge in the USA, shaping the future of the business and mentoring the next generation of leaders.

Lucy’s story is one of resilience, ambition, and an unwavering belief in her own potential. She is a prime example of how determination, hard work, and the courage to embrace change can lead to extraordinary success. As we celebrate International Women’s Day, Lucy’s journey serves as a reminder of the limitless possibilities that await when we support one another and continue to break down barriers.
